INGREDIENTS

3 cups heavy whipping cream

1 tsp salt

Bowl of ice water

Farmer’s Friend tincture of your choice

INSTRUCTIONS

Add the heavy whipping cream to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the beater attachment (or a large bowl if you’re using a hand mixer).

Beat on medium speed for 5-7 minutes until the creams starts to curdle slightly (just past the whipped cream stage).

Cover your stand mixer with a kitchen towel (it can get messy if not) and increase the speed to high. If using a hand mixer this is the point where you will want to put on an apron. Beat for another 10 minutes. The butter will start to clump onto the beater and the sound will change to sloshing liquid as the buttermilk starts to separate.

At this point you can turn off the mixer. Transfer the clumps of butter stuck on the beater into a large bowl filled with ice water.

Strain the buttermilk into an air tight container and refrigerate. Great for use in baking, pouring on cereal, or drinking straight.

Wearing gloves, form the butter clump into a ball and place in the bowl of ice water. Massage/knead the butter in the ice water for 30 seconds. Remove from the bath and squeeze out as much of the water as you can.

At this point you can add in the salt if you want your butter salted, just sprinkle it on and mix using a large spoon. Portion out ½ ounce or 1 tbsp balls.

One at a time put each portion into a small bowl and add 1 ml of Farmer’s Friend tincture. We chose our 1:1:1:1 CBN/CBG/THC/CBD for this recipe. Mix.

At this point you can add herbs, garlic, or any flavorings you want. Recipe for edible flower addition below. Wrap in parchment paper, wax paper or an airtight container. Store at room temp up to a week, in the fridge 3-4 weeks, or in the freezer up to 3 months.

How to dry edible flowers:

Remove petals from flowers. Make sure they’re edible. Examples are roses, violets, nasturtium, marigolds, chamomile, lavender, borage, and any flower blooming in your herb garden. Lay them out between two pieces of paper towel and microwave in 15 second increments. Check the texture between each until the flowers feel dry and a little crispy. This should take 3-4 rounds. The petals should be dry but still retain their color. Store in an airtight container for up to a month. Sprinkle on anything that makes your heart content.

Shortcut method:

Add your favorite softened butter ½ ounce or 1 tbsp at time to a small bowl and mix in your desired Farmer’s Friend tincture.
